Paragraph: Your First Day in School

Your First Day in School

“Old is gold” Reminiscences are always a source of a kind of happiness. When I look back, the sweet old days come alive before my eyes. I clearly remember my first day at School. It was a Thursday in the month of May. My father took me to School and introduced me to the Headmaster who happened to be his good old friend.

I prostrated before him in the traditional manner. He held me affectionately to his bosom. I will never forget the warmth I felt on that occasion. He sent me to the class with a member of his staff. I found a seat in the second bench . It saddened ime. But soon two boys sitting there befriended me.

One had seen me receiving the blessings of the head of the institution. He began to tell it to others. That held me high in the eyes of my mates. The class teacher called us by our names and wanted to know our whereabouts. He taught a little of Bengali in that class. But he appeared to be a very attractive personality to us.

As it was Class V, classes were dissolved after the fourth period. We got routine in the second period. In rest of the classes we got acquainted with three more teachers. All of them made it a point to be acquainted with us. We were little buds. Soon I made friends with a few students. They are still my best friends. Had I wings, I would have gone to those old days.
