Paragraph: Rights of Children

Rights of Children

“Rights of Children” It is the duty of the nation to protect the rights of the children. They are the people who will protect our tomorrow. Reports in press is a pointer how they are exploited and deprived of their basic rights. We must not forget that they have equal rights to life and survival with dignity. They have every right to health facilities and treatment. They have right to education.

Our Constitution promised compulsory education to all the children within 10 years of its invocation. Unfortunately it has remained a distant dream even after 50 years. The children have right to play and leisure. Though not matured, yet they have the right to express themselves.

They have the fundamental right to protection from economic and other exploitations. The propensity of the state to use them in time of war must stop. They have every right to protection at that time.
